There have been lunchtime concerts at St Mary Magdalene Church for many years. They start at 12.30pm on the second Wednesday in every month, except August, and last about half an hour. The concerts give local people an opportunity to perform in a good venue and the audience the pleasure of hearing live music of a high standard. In the past we have been entertained by singers, choirs and instrumentalists.

Everyone, whether a member of our Church or a passer-by, is welcome to come to the concerts. There is no charge for entry but there is a retiring collection to cover expenses.

Following the concert, at a small charge of £3.50, light lunches are available for those who wish to have a pleasant meal in friendly company in the Choir Vestry.

November Recital ~ From the Parish Magazine

Olive Murray – soprano – and Christopher Foreman – piano – presented the November recital with music from the 17th to 20th centuries. Olive has a wide experience of operatic and oratorio roles and sung very competently. Christopher is choir master and organist at St Paul’s, Winchmore Hill and is a very able pianist.

Unfortunately, Marion and Michael Smith are unable to play, as was advertised, at the next recital. However, at 12:30 pm on Wednesday 13 December Elia Stavrou will perform for us. All are welcome to half an hour of music and ploughman’s lunch with hot soup to follow at £3.50 for those who wish.
